Precision welding,
down to a human hair.
TIG, micro, and microscopic laser welding for manufacturers, machine shops, and mold makers — tool & die repairs, prototypes, and recurring production runs across North Central Massachusetts.
Or text a photo of the part — you'll get a straight answer on whether it's weldable.
Welding most shops won't touch.
From production runs to repairs on parts everyone else called scrap — quoted straight, delivered on time.
Precision TIG Welding
Thin materials, stainless, aluminum — critical joints where integrity matters, with every bead placed exactly where it belongs.
Micro Welding
Welding under magnification — fine edges, tight tolerances, and buildups on the trickiest parts. A skill learned over a decade of tool & die work.
Microscopic Laser Welding
Welding rod as fine as a human hair. Repairs and beads the naked eye can barely see — precision most of New England can't offer.
Tool & Die / Mold Repair
Injection molds, dies, and tooling repaired to spec instead of replaced — the shop's origin specialty since 2012.
Fabrication & Prototyping
Custom builds and first articles from print or sketch — proven out before full-scale production, with design consultation included.
Production & Repairs
Recurring batch runs on standing contract, plus on-site and in-shop repairs that keep machinery running and downtime short.
From part in hand to part in production.
Send the part or print
Text a photo, send a drawing, or drop it at the shop.
Straight answer
Weldability, approach, lead time, and price — no runaround.
Proven out
Precision repair or first article, done to spec and checked.
On repeat
Standing contracts and repeat runs, delivered on time.
Trained where precision was invented.
- Apprenticed at Leominster Micro Welding (est. 1972) — tool & die and injection mold repair since 2012
- Micro and laser welding under magnification — beads placed exactly where they need to be
- Aluminum, stainless, and tool steel in challenging applications — delivered consistently on time
- One craftsman owns every job — you talk to the welder, not a front office

"I started at 16 sweeping floors in a micro welding shop. Fourteen years later the standard hasn't changed: every bead goes exactly where it belongs, or it doesn't leave my shop."

Doesn't bite. Anymore.

We have worked with Keenan at Vella Welding for a variety of welding jobs. He has always been extremely flexible and responsive. He has welded both aluminum and stainless steel for us in very challenging applications and has delivered consistently on time. I would highly recommend Vella Welding for your welding needs.

Things people ask us.
Can you repair a damaged mold or die?
Yes — that's where this shop started. Micro welding under magnification rebuilds damaged cavities, parting lines, and edges to spec, so you repair the tooling instead of replacing it.
What's the smallest weld you can make?
Microscopic laser welding uses filler as fine as a human hair and places beads the naked eye can barely see. If the repair looks impossible, send a photo before you scrap the part.
Do you take on recurring production work?
Yes — standing contracts and repeat batch runs are the core of the shop. First article gets proven out, then your parts show up on schedule.
Do you work on-site?
Both — a dedicated shop in Lunenburg for precision work, and on-site service for machinery and structural repairs that can't come to us.
Not sure if it's weldable?
Text a photo to (978) 502-4324. You'll get a straight answer — including "don't spend money on this" when that's the honest call.
